Doodmatee "Dolly" Arjune

Dolly “Rama” Arjune, the oldest of ten children, was born November 23, 1948 to Tejram and Urmilla Kanhai.  She peacefully passed away on July 3, 2017 after a progressive decline in health.  She had a loving and caring spirit.  Her love for helping others through teaching led to a career as a registered nurse. She loved to have a good laugh, which was evident in her jovial personality, and enjoyed dancing and singing, especially at Mandir.     Her parents, and two brothers, Amar and Chabinauth, preceded her in death.  Sister Rama, as she was affectionately known, is survived by seven siblings: Bhawan “Brodzo” Kanhai  (Deokie), Indra Mangal (Doodnauth), Dindyal “Dino” Kanhai (Desiree), Bhuneshwar “Bhunie” Kanhai (Chanie), Chandrika “Sato” Kanhai (Hema), Neela Persaud (Sugie) and Sunita Kanhai.     Dolly is also survived by her four children: Parsuram “Vishnu” Mattow (Indra), Carol Hylton (Omer), Faye Hylton (Cherise), and Anita Sobaram (Yashpal) and nine grandchildren: Tatiana, Shivani, Alana, Brandon, Tyler, Addison, Charlotte, Anjali “Emma” and Caroline “Bella”.     Auntie loved all of her nephews and nieces Ravi, Krishna, Devi, Shawn, Shannon, Sham, Hemla, Radha, Seeta, Mahendra, Anil, Ram, Reshma, Ranie, Anjo, Yada, Uma and Natasha.     She cared very much for everyone in her life.  She will be deeply missed. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home 7001 NW 4 Street Plantation, Florida 33317 Funeral services, Wednesday, July 12, 2017 from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the funeral home with committal services following at the crematory.
