On December 17, 2021 Dorothy Darling Cushing got her wings and went to walk with the angels to heaven, she was 98 ½ years old. Dorothy was predeceased by her loving husband Waldo Cushing of 57 years, she was also predeceased by her sister Virginia, brothers George, Edward and Douglas. Dorothy is survived by her son Waldo Cushing Jr. and his wife Joanne from Clermont Florida, daughter Virginia Reynolds from Tampa Florida and daughter Deborah Cushing from Sunrise, Florida. She is also survived by four grandchildren Nicole Ray, Michael Cushing and his wife Laura, James Jr. and his wife Rebecca and Joseph, and nine great grandchildren Kylie, Gianna, Ella, Jordan, Kaelyn, Carson, Silas, Marley and Karley. Dorothy’s career started in Tampa Florida working as a telephone operator for Peninsula telephone company and when she moved to Sunrise Florida she was a telephone operator for Bell South and then when they broke up she went with AT&T until she retired. She was a den mother and a girl scout leader for her children. She was a member of Beta Sigma Phi where they did a lot of charity work. Communication Workers of America, Eastern Stars and the Pioneer Club. While Dorothy’s family grieves her loss, they are choosing to remember Dorothy in a way that honors her spirit. Her family would like you to join them in a Celebration of Life Ceremony. It will take place at T M Ralph Funeral Home, 371 NW 136th Avenue.
