Dorothy M. Foster

Dorothy (Dottie) Foster passed away peacefully at home on January 12, 2022, at the age of 95.

At the age of seven, (1933) she moved to Florida from Illinois with her parents Howard and Margaret McKirnan, and big sister Jane.

In 1947 she was in the very first graduating class of Florida State University. She later continued her education and attended the University of Florida where she obtained her master’s in business administration.

She began her teaching career in 1956 at Stranahan in Fort Lauderdale and continued teaching there until her retirement in 1991. (35 Years)

Through the years she was a member of AAUW, Delta Kappa Gama, Senior friends, and was active in many different community groups and programs.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey Foster, and his wife (Eladia), and a large group of friends and family who will all truly miss her.

Dorothy always loved animals and was a frequent visitor to the local Dog park. She gave to the ASPCA and was a very loving mother to many creatures, great and small.
