Dorothy Alice Zarrella

Dorothy Alice Zarrella age 89 of Plantation, Florida passed away on September 20, 2017 after a brief illness. Dorothy was born in New York and married Robert L. Zarrella in 1948, and they moved to Florida in 1963. Robert passed away in 1992. She loved cooking and baking for her family and enjoyed reading and many crafts, fishing and boating. She was also an avid bowler and animal lover. Dorothy was preceded in death by her Husband and her grandson, PFC Rober L. Daugherty, Jr. during the Gulf War-1991Dorothy is survived by her six children, Mary Ann (Russ) Boy, Dorothy Maria Zarrella, Robert L. Zarrella, Jr., Michael Zarrella, Louise Muller and John (Lorraine) Zarrella; her nine grandchildren, Russell (Shirley) Boy, Christopher (Barbie) Boy, Theresa (Joe) Guetzloff, John (Melanie) Muller, Kevin (Amanda) Zarrella, Jennifer (Evan) Small, Melissa (Bryon) Sproles, Amanda Hall, Jeffrey (Yabel) Zarrella; Eleven great-grandchildren; Legacy Hart, Griffin Boy, James Zarrella, Natalie Zarrella, Emily, Boy, Alaina Hall, Aidan Small, Avery Muller, Alex Zarrella, Camden Small and Landon Muller. Brother, Roland (Gertrude) Krauch; sister in law, Gloria Zarrella and her bonus children Gary and Sharon Burnett and many relatives and close friends. Her family will receive friends on Saturday, October 7, 2017 from 9:00-9:45 AM at the funeral home. A Mass of Christian Burial will be Saturday at 10:00 AM at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at Queen of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pooches in Pines, 9500 Pines Blvd, Pembroke Pines, FL. 33024 or Vitas Hospice, 4500 N.
