Eileen (Hourigan) Claypoole, 92, of Deerfield Beach, FL passed away peacefully on June 30, 2017. Born February 2, 1925 in Troy, NY, Eileen is survived by her loving family—her sister Doris; her seven children (with first husband William Joseph Kearney III): Carole, Kathy, Karen, Connie, Corrine, Billy, and Greg; 15 grandchildren: Suzanne, Alan, Lisa, Louis, Laura, Vincent, Kristen, Matthew, Robbie, Christine, Will, Donovan John, Cassidy, Gregory, and Kelly; and 12 great-grandchildren: Thomas, Jonathan, Heather, Brittany, Carly, Joseph, Brock, Preston, Kendra, Oliver, Leo, and Caroline. Her beloved husband Francis Harvey Claypoole predeceased her. Adored and celebrated by her family, Eileen (known as "Grandma Fancy") set a glittering example of living life fully by enjoying and appreciating great people, great times, and great stories. Quick with a toast, ready with a quip, she sought out the positive and the humor in every situation. People loved being around her. She made others feel lighter and happier. She loved a good party, big city excitement, glitz, and glamour. She loved Frank Sinatra and Barry Manilow, Broadway shows, and figure skating. She always dressed to the nines, knowing she would wind up the center of attention, which she handled, always, with grace and class. Underneath the glitz, she possessed a soft thoughtful side, embodied in her adoration of the Blessed Mother, and in how she cared for her family. Eileen leaves a beautiful legacy of love, humor, and appreciation, which will continue on through her children and generations beyond. Visitation will be held at TM Ralph Funeral Home in Plantation (7001 NW 4th Street, Plantation, FL 33317) from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM on Thursday, July 6. Mass of Christian Burial will be held at St. David Catholic Church (3900 South University Drive, Davie, FL 33328 ) on Friday, July 7 at 10:00AM. Interment will immediately follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery in North Lauderdale. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to the Society of St. Vincent de Paul.
