Elsie Schrieffer, 86, of Plantation, Florida, entered Heaven’s Gates on Thursday, August 30, 2018. She was born in Chicago, Illinois to the late Pasquale and Colomba Spagnoli on December 7, 1931. She was married to the late Frank Schrieffer, and a valued employee of Illinois Bell, where she worked for 30 years and retiring from in 1983.
She is survived by her loving son, Anthony Schrieffer, and her loving stepchildren, John Schrieffer (Pam), Elaine Thomas (Charlie) and Larry Schrieffer (Annie).
Loving sister to Marie Gizzi (the late Rudy), the late Nancy Peluso, the late Lena Juska (Chuck), the late Eda Spagnoli, and the late Edward Spagnoli (Brenda).
Loving Grandmother to Brian Thomas (Sara), Julie Schrieffer, Michael Schrieffer, Diane Thomas, and Chris Thomas.
Loving Aunt to Janet Earullo, Joseph Bisconti (Vicki), James Bisconti (Toni), John Bisconti (Sarah), Crissy Juska, Edward Spagnoli Jr. (Shana), Nancy Hill, Gina Neuman (Mark), the late Paul Peluso, Jr., and the late George Hill.
Loving Aunt to many great nephews, and nieces. Devoted great-grandmother of six.
Elsie was a devoted parishioner of St. Bonaventure Catholic Church. She was an active member of the Holy Spirit Prayer Group. Elsie devoted her time and was a lead member of the Life of the Spirit Seminar. She was also a member of the Rosary Guild, and spent many hours making rosaries for the needy. She was also very devoted to the Infant of Prague and made the Rosary Chaplets to be used for prayer. Elsie also participated in the Emmaus retreat and prayed for her sisters daily.
Elsie will forever be remembered by her devoted family and friends. She will be missed by all who knew her.
Visitation with the Schrieffer Family will be held in the vestibule of St. Bonaventure Church, on Saturday, September 15th, 11:30 AM, followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 12 Noon. Entombment immediately following at Forest Lawn South Cemetery in Davie, Florida.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in her memory to St. Bonaventure Church.
