Emilio De Simone Sr, was born July 21st 1930 in Brooklyn, New York. Emilio later moved to Middle Village New York where he attended P.S. 49 and later graduated from Grover Cleveland High School in Feb 1949. Emilio moved to Florida and attended University of Miami for two years. Emilio was drafted into the Army where he proudly served his country as a Corporal from Oct 1951 through Oct 1953. After he was discharged from the Army, he moved to Florida where he worked as a local entrepreneur (which includes restaurateur, real estate broker, general contractor) and retired as Chief Building Inspector for the City of Pembroke Pines until his retirement 1991. Emilio was an active member and proudly served in the Building Officials & Inspectors Educational Association. Emilio was also a proud member of St. David’s Catholic Church where he served as an Usher. He was actively involved in the Middle Village Community and met regularly where he enjoyed sharing his stories. He also served as post commander in the American League Post 36 the late 1950’s. He will be buried at the South Florida National VA Cemetery in Lake Worth Florida.
Emilio is survived by his loving wife, Martha of Plantation FL; son, Emilio De Simone Jr., of Plantation FL; daughter, Regina, of Limestone TN; step-children, Janet, of Marietta, GA, Cheryl, of Melrose FL, and Don, of Seneca, SC; brother, Lou, of Beverly Hills, FL; seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held at St. David’s Catholic Church on his birthday, July 21, 2020, details pending current quarantine regulations.
