Florence Evelyn Currie of Plantation, Florida, passed away peacefully on August 23, 2021, at the age of 96 at her daughter’s home in Wellington, Florida. Florence was born on 8/18/1925 in Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada, married her husband Elwood on April 29, 1944 and they were blessed with six loving children. They moved to Florida in 1963. Florence was an avid church goer, bingo player and baker. She was best known for always having freshly baked cookies, cakes, and her family favorite – apple pies, for anyone that stopped by. She is preceded in death by her husband Elwood and son James Currie. She is survived by her children Gerald (Pam) Currie, Douglas (Lura) Currie, Cheryl Barton, Kathleen (Jim) Horton, Janet (David) Wilson. She had 12 beautiful grandchildren, and 16 great-grandchildren. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A special thank you to those who helped to care for her and she loved deeply, Richie and Bianca. The family will receive friends Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at T. M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home. A Mass will be celebrated following the viewing at 11:00 a.m. at Saint Gregory The Great Catholic Church. Burial following mass at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery.
