Frank Woodard Cox, Jr.

Frank Woodard Cox, Jr, age 91, passed away on Saturday, January 23, 2021.  Frank was born on October 3, 1929 in Norfolk, Virginia to Frank Woodard Cox, Sr.  and Evelyn Huffman Cox.  He was raised in Princess Anne County, Virginia, was a member of Scott Memorial United Methodist Church, and graduated from Oceana High School in 1946.  Frank was a graduate of Virginia Military Institute, Class of 1950-B and served as a US Army Second Lieutenant in Korea.

Frank was Assistant City Engineer for Williamsburg, Virginia and was associated with local engineering firms before moving to Florida in 1958.

Frank was actively involved in land development, residential home construction and the development, management, and sales of manufactured home communities in the State of Florida. 

Frank is predeceased by his wife of 61 years, Anne Morrow Osborn Cox.  He is survived by daughters, Peggy J. Cox and Sheri Cox Wright, grandsons Derek Matthew Wright, Kyle Andrew Wright,  Kevin Alexander Cox, and great grandson, Jacob Tucker Wright.  Frank is predeceased by his only sister, Lorraine Cox McGuire.

Visitation will be held Wednesday from 6:00-8:00PM  at the T.M. Ralph Funeral Home 371 NW 136 Avenue Sunrise, FL. Funeral Service will be held on Thursday 11:30 AM at the funeral home, followed by burial at Lauderdale Memorial Park.  In his memory donations may be made to the VMI Foundation, Attn: Meade King, PO Box 932, Lexington, VA 24450, or [email protected].
