Frank, 97, of Davie, Florida, passed away September 6, 2018, at home peacefully in his sleep. Frank was born in Garfield, New Jersey, to parents Donato Guerrieri and Maria DeCillis. He left school early to help his father in the family construction business. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1942, and served in the Pacific Theater on the USS St. Louis. Upon his discharge, he married the love of his life, Carmela Tirri, to whom he was married for 60 years until her untimely death in 2006. He and his brother Thomas ran the family construction business in northern New Jersey, until the families moved to Hollywood, Florida, in 1956, where they began a building and contracting firm in the Driftwood Acres subdivision. He moved to Sunrise, Florida, in 1969, where he was an officer in the Sunrise Police Reserve Unit for over ten years. He retired from the contracting business in 1979, and lived for a period of time in Stuart, Florida. He was a founding member and treasurer of the Sunrise Italian American Civic Association, dues paying member of the American Legion, and the oldest living member of the Italian American Club of Hollywood. He was predeceased by his brother Thomas, his sister Rose and grandson Paul. He is survived by his three children and their spouses, Daniel (Paula), Frank, Jr. (Valerie) and Carmela (Alex), 8 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be Thursday, September 13, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. at T.M. Ralph Funeral Home located at 371 N.W. 136th Avenue Sunrise, Florida. A memorial Mass will follow at noon at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church located at 1301 S.W. 136th Avenue Davie, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations can be sent to The American Legion or Wounded Warriors Project.
