Frank G. Thenn, born on March 14, 1934, passed away peacefully on March 13, 2025, just one day shy of his 91st birthday.

In honor of Frank's remarkable life, a graveside service is scheduled for March 19, 2025, at the South Florida National Cemetery, located at 6501 FL-7, Lake Worth, FL 33449. The service will commence at 10:30 AM.

Frank's journey spanned nearly nine decades, during which he cultivated deep connections with family, friends, and colleagues. His contributions and presence will be missed by many, and he leaves behind a legacy of love and camaraderie that will endure in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing him.

It is with profound sadness that the family of Retired Senior Master Sergeant Frank G. Thenn, Jr. announces his sudden passing on Thursday, March 13, 2025, one day shy of his 91st birthday.

Predeceased his wife of 56 years, Loretta Power Thenn and his parents, Frank George Thenn, Sr. and Margaret (Barclay) Thenn and his sister Frances Charles.

Cherished husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, Frank will be lovingly remembered by his children, Cynthia Shirrel, Donna Darrell, Michael Thenn. Grandchildren: Anthony Rusin, Brandon Rusin, Taylor Darrell, Callen Thenn, Mackenzie Darrell, Lowery Thenn. Great-Grandchildren: Leeic Rusin, Kinsley Rusin, Emilia Darrell. Survived by his loving sister Peggy Rombach, nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins, and lifelong friends.

His military service began in 1953 when he joined the U.S. Navy. He then served twenty four years with the U.S. Air Force until his retirement in 1977 as a Senior Master Sergeant. He served with distinction in the Viet Nam War, the Pentagon, and Nato Forces and received numerous awards and decorations during his career in the military. Frank’s military career took him and his family to numerous countries including Turkey and Holland.
