Gerald (Jerry) Killam of Plantation Florida, died on September 20, 2022. He was born in Canada and came to The US when he was a child. He graduated from Hamilton High School in Hamilton Massachusetts, and Boston Barber College. He served two years in the army. He married Mary Mackenzie in 1954, and they moved to Florida in 1956. Jerry opened and owned Jerry’s Barber Shop in Ft. Lauderdale for 14 years. Then he joined the Prudential Insurance Co. Jerry’s first wife Mary died in 1992. He was married to Barbara Winchester in 1993. They spent summers in Land Harbor, North Carolina, and winters in Plantation. He was a member of Plantation Methodist Church and was a 32nd degree Mason with his home lodge, Doric Lodge in Ft. Lauderdale. He was a member of BPO Elks #2273, and was a Gideon serving with the central camp. His many interests and hobbies included tennis, golf and most of all dancing. He is survived by his wife Barbara and his children, Gayle Pritchard and Gary Killam (Debi). His grandchildren include Mackenzie Dailey, Ryan Pritchard, Kayla Pritchard, Shannon Arnold, Matthew Arnold, Kristina Arnold, Nicole Shephard, and Dan Killam. There are 13 great grandchildren and 3 step-children. Jerry is predeceased by his daughter Cheryl Arnold and his great grandson William Shephard. Memorial services will be held at Plantation United Methodist Church at 1001 NW 70th Ave, Plantation, Fl. on Friday, November 11, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. In his memory donations may be made to Plantation United Methodist Church, Gideons international, or Vitas Healthcare/Hospice.
