Gilbert A. Vince passed away peacefully and surrounded by loved ones on May 24th, 2017. Gilbert “Vinny” Vince was born on January 20th, 1928 in Donora, Pennsylvania. He remained there until enlisting in the US Coast Guard during the Second World War. Shortly after receiving an honorable discharge, he met and married Marjorie Miller. The two then moved to Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and began their family. He studied Avionics in Miami and thus began a forty year career in the field. He was very involved in the community, from coaching youth baseball and football to serving as an auxiliary BSO officer. In his spare time, he enjoyed working at various venues including The Renaissance Festival, the Swimming Hall of Fame, Joe Robbie Stadium, and the Fort Lauderdale stadium during spring training for the New York Yankees and the Baltimore Orioles. He was a beloved father, grandfather, and great grandfather who is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Edith, son Kevin, and his three sisters and one brother. He is survived by his children: Kathi (Terry) Linde, Lisa Vince (George Fasthoff), Kirk Vince, and Amy Vince; five grandchildren: Cale, Madison, Logan, Kevin, and Noah; and one great grandchild: Parker Henry. He loved and was loved by many. Funeral services will be conducted on Friday, June 2nd, 2017 at T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home, 7001 NW 4th St., Plantation, FL 33317. Visitation will begin at 1:00 pm - 5:00 pm, with services beginning at 5:00 pm.In Vinny's memory, the family invites guests to join us in wearing your favorite Guy Harvey or sports attire to attend the services. Just wear what you would wear to hang out with him.   In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to AMVETS or The Wounded Warrior Project.
