Gilda Field, a beloved daughter, sister, mother, and friend, passed away on January 1, 2025, at the age of 66, after a courageous battle with cancer. Born Gilda Gaviola on September 19, 1958, in Manila, Philippines, she brought warmth and kindness to everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Gilda dedicated over 30 years of her life to caring for others as a Registered Nurse, a career that exemplified her compassionate spirit. Graduating from the esteemed University of Santo Tomas in 1979, she took her calling to heart, and her commitment to her profession mirrored the love she consistently poured into her personal life. The stories shared by those she touched in her nursing career are a testament to her unwavering dedication and kindness.
Gilda was more than her career; she was a devoted mother to her daughter, Angela Field and a wonderful wife to her husband, Scott Field. Together, they built cherished memories filled with laughter and warmth, as Gilda always loved spending time with her family. She had a natural talent for bringing joy into every gathering, whether through her heartfelt conversations or cooking. Gilda adored spending moments with friends, strengthening bonds that would last a lifetime.
A deeply religious woman, Gilda's faith guided her through life's challenges and joys. She was a constant source of encouragement and support not only to her immediate family but also to those she loved back home in the Philippines. Her efforts in helping her family across the ocean stand as a proud testament to her character and her desire to lift others.
Gilda is now reunited with her late husband, Scott Field, whose love for her remains palpable in the hearts of those who knew them together. Their bond symbolizes a true partnership, one that inspired their daughter and those who were privileged to witness their devotion.
A visitation will be held in her honor at T.M. Ralph Funeral Home Sawgrass/Weston in Sunrise, Florida, on January 12, 2025, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. This will be followed by a Mass at All Saints Catholic Church, also in Sunrise, on January 13, 2025, at 11:00 AM.
