With great sadness, the family of Gisela Rey Diaz announces her passing at age 92. Gisela was the beloved wife of Luis Diaz Frey, mother of Gisela, Alina, Luisela (deceased), and Maria de los Angeles; mother-in-law of Agustin, Pedro and Andreas; grandmother to Alberto, Rafael, Ricardo, Alejandro and wife Keeley, and Christian; with a very special place in her heart for Maria Carolina, Agustin Jose (deceased), Paul, Daniel, Maria Eugenia, Isabela and their children. She will also be remembered with love by countless family members and friends. Born in Havana, Cuba in 1925, she migrated with her family to Trinidad and Tobago in 1961. After nearly six years the family moved to Venezuela, where she lived thirty-eight years till their move to Weston, Florida in 2005. A graduate of the American Dominican Academy, Havana, she was a consummate reader, singer, language teacher, and aficionado of chocolate and all things sweet. But, above all, she was a loving and dedicated wife, mother and grandmother. She was predeceased by her father Manuel Rey and her mother Concepcion Gonzalez (Tita). Gisela’s spectacular voice took her to the singing academy where she met Luis, her husband of nearly sixty-eight years. Since then, Gisela and Luis were a staple of their social gatherings, with their tireless dancing, quick wit and extraordinary sense of humor. Visitation will be Saturday, March 10, 2018 from 1:00 pm-5:00 pm, at T. M. Ralph Funeral Home Sawgrass/Weston, 371 NW 136th Avenue, Sunrise, FL 33325.
