Glenndola Kistler, daughter of Franklyn Murray & Anna Ulysses Breckenridge Staples, was born in Hillman, Arkansas on April 9th, 1932. She departed this life on August 29th, 2021 at the age of 89. She was born and raised in Arkansas. Moving to Indiana at age 13. There she met her future husband, after swearing she would never wed again, was engaged three weeks later. They married the first furlough Arthur could arrange and, after the ceremony on April 14th, 1956, they drove to Fort Belvoir to begin married life. Glenndola and Arthur settled in Indiana when they left the service. Their last deployment was in Heidelberg, Germany. They left the Army and Germany March of 1962; seven months after the Berlin wall went up. They bought a home in Goshen, Indiana where they raised their children. Glenndola was a stay at home wife and mother. She gardened, canned, sewed, drew, painted, and cooked everything from A-Z from scratch! They both were very active members of the Goshen DAV/DAVA and they remained lifetime members! They moved from Indiana to Arkansas in 1977 buying and running a diner until they moved to Broward County, Florida in 1982. Glenndola brought to the marriage 6 year old son Anthony (Tony) Yates. Three children followed: Linda A. Kistler Wolf and her husband Marvin, Virgil G. Kistler and his wife Susan, and Arthur (Butch) W. Kistler II and his widow Annie. Seven Grandchildren and nine Great Grandchildren round out the immediate family. Two sister-in-laws: Darlene Kistler Alvord and Suzanne Knepper Kistler. She also had many nieces and nephews and a host of other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband on September 30, 2019, her sons Butch in 1995 and Tony in 2012. As well as, her brothers Joseph Eldon Marriott, Kenneth Denovan (Dino) Staples, and sister, Edith Janieve Parson. She was a remarkable and strong woman whose memory will always be cherished by those that had the privilege of knowing her.
