Gustav Christian Hosbach , 75 of Davie, FL & long time resident of Maywood, NJ, died, March 22, 2018 after fighting years of congestive heart failure which led to further complications. HE did not give up – His gentle heart was just not strong enough for his big personality and his amazing thoughts of grand adventure and big plans to never stop. As a Director of Insurance for many years of his life he had a knack for leading. He ended his insurance career after his first heart attack at the age of 36. At this early age, he began his journey into the world of being “The Boss”. He started a few businesses and properties to work on – but in the end, his health didn’t allow these creative ventures to be followed through. But he certainly did love being called “The Boss”. He served in the Navy and was also a 4th Degree Knight with the Knights of Columbus since approximately 2002 and was their treasurer. Most of all… He was the most selfless, big hearted, “go to” man…. a man who after years of working 3 jobs at a time-fingers to the bone to take care of his family, found his way to be the most incredible husband, dad and grandfather. He was a best friend and cousin to many. He would stop time and life for you if he could. He took the time to talk, be in “the now” and spend quality time every time he could. He knew more than anymore how precious and fragile life was – and I suppose he knew how time is so “little”. He knew how special it was to “live the moments when you get the moments”. Because of him we should all learn to VALUE THE MOMENTS YOU HAVE, NOT THE MOMENTS YOU DON’T. He leaves behind his wife Laura, his son Christian and wife Jacqueline, his daughter Lisa Carroll and husband Christopher, daughter Andrea Corso and husband Richard, many cousins, family and friends. But, his most precious assets his grandchildren – Amanda Lee Hosbach, Mackenzie Lee Carroll, and Nicki Frances Corso. His life was forever changed when his grandchildren entered his world. They may have been the little army giving us many years more with Papa than we would have had. The pieces of his heart are now a part of all of us. These pieces make a whole and will live on. A Memorial Service will be at TM Ralph Sunrise Funeral Home, 361 NW 136th Avenue, Sunrise, FL 33325, Tuesday March 27, 2018 from 5:00 – 7:00 PM, with a Military Tribute & Knights of Columbus Ceremony.
