Harriet Louise Kuhner Van Der Beek

Harriet Louise Van Der Beek, 98 1/2, passed away with her loved ones surrounding her on 10/4/18. Born in New York, NY, Harriet was married to Lt. Col. Louis Van Der Beek for 71 years who preceded her in death in 2014. Harriet loved to travel the world & especially loved cruising. Earlier in her life she worked for The International Red Cross in Morocco, Gillette Corp and University of Florida, Agricultural Science Extension. She was a resident of Plantation for 45 years. She was a caring mother to her daughter Marsha, son David, two granddaughters Laura & Ann Marie, four great-grandchildren, Nicholas, Samantha, Mai & Christopher. Most people knew her as person that could light up a room with her smile and brought sunshine to anyone who knew her.   Viewing will be held Thursday from 6-8 PM at T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home 7001 NW 4th St. Funeral services will be at Thurs. 10 AM at Plantation Community Church 6501 W. Broward Blvd. Burial will follow at 12:45pm, South Florida National Cemetery 6501 S SR 7 Lake Worth, FL.
