Henry (Hank) Mitchell Olkowski Jr. was born to the late Henry Mitchell Olkowski and Mary Olkowski on March 22, 1944 in Bayonne, New Jersey. As a little boy he loved learning how to build things with his dad, just as his son, Ryan, loved building things with him. He attended Catholic School and Military College. Hank joined the Military during the Vietnam War. He first served in the U.S. Navy and then received a commission in the U.S. Army. Hank went on to became a First Lieutenant and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal for his valor. He left the service in the late 60’s and joined the private sector. After relocating to South Florida in the late 80's, Hank spent the majority of his working career with Del Monte Fresh Produce. He was a Logistics Coordinator for Fresh Hawaiian and Costa Rican Pineapples. Always patriotic, he passed away on November 12, 2018—Veterans Day. He is survived by sons Wayne, Kenneth (Shannon), and granddaughter Sara, from a previous marriage. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Irene, devoted son Ryan (Darya), and sister Carol (Jimmy). He was a cherished uncle to 6 nephews and a great friend to so many people. He will be sorely missed. There will be a private service on Saturday, November 17, 2018 .
