James Thomas “Jim” McGonigle, 77, of Plantation, passed away peacefully, January 23, 2018, at his home in Plantation, surrounded by his family. Jim was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and graduated from Penn Hills High School in 1958. He then enlisted in to the United States Marine Corps and was honorably discharged in 1961. Jim earned his Master’s Degree in Taxation and Accounting from Nova Southeastern University in 1973. Jim is survived and his wife Jacki; daughter, Jennifer; son-in-law, Mike; two grandchildren Jayce and Joss; his sister Delores Sansonetti.Jim has been a Plantation resident for over 40 years and a Plantation Kiwanian for over 35 years where he held office as President and Treasurer. Jim was known for his extravagant Christmas Lights Displays that included the 101 Dalmatians. Jim was a long time Miami Hurricane and Dolphin supporter. He was a very generous man that dedicated his time and energy to such honorable endeavors as Toys for Tots, Honor Flight, volunteering at Plantation Park Elementary, Seminole Middle School, and South Plantation High School. Visitation will be Sunday, 2:00 PM-6:00 PM and Monday, 4:00 PM-8:00 PM, at T. M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial, Tuesday, 12 Noon, St. Gregory The Great Catholic Church. Interment following with military honors, 2:15 PM, South Florida VA National Cemetery in Lake Worth. Arrangements entrusted to T. M.
