James M. Ross of Coconut Creek, Florida passed away at Broward Health North. He filled his 90 years with love, country and family.
Beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Great-Grandfather. He lived life to the fullest and had lifelong friends.
He was a Navy pilot, flying jet planes off the aircraft carrier Saratoga, after completing OCS training in 1956. After the Navy he worked for Burroughs Corporation, where he excelled as a top salesperson, sales manager, branch manager and retiring as a corporate Product Manager. Jim continued his successful career with Macro Computer Products, and a couple other ventures, before retiring to start his next life adventures.
After retirement Jim took up riding motorcycles. He was an avid rider. He especially enjoyed riding in North Carolina, where he lived with his wife, Shirley.
Jim was married to his college sweetheart, Shirley Votrian, for 64 years. Shirley preceded him in death in 2019.
His parents, Clearance Ross, and Vina Gould preceded him in death. As did his son, Christopher Marvin Ross. He is survived by his children, Jimi Lyn Ross, Peter Votrian Ross (Carol), and his daughter, Stacey Ann Ross (Sheldon). He is also survived by his four grandchildren (Ashley, Bryan, Alison, and Matthew), four great-grandchildren (Roan, Gillian, Penelope, and Maxwell), and many extended family members.
His religion affiliation is Episcopalian. Jim is a member of St. Benedict’s Episcopal Church in Plantation, FL.
Jim was laid to rest on November 7th, at South Florida National Cemetery located in Lake Worth, FL with military honors.
