It is with deep sadness that we share the passing of our beloved mother, Janet Tripp, who left us on May 27th, 2024, at the age of 86 in Hollywood, Florida. Our mother was surrounded by her loving family in her final moments. She was a very strong woman who battled dementia and Alzheimer's for the past decade. We will all miss her immensely as she was a beacon of hope to everyone around her.
She was born on February 12, 1938, in Huntington, Long Island, New York. She moved to Sunrise Florida in 1967 where she was involved in youth sports with her children, involved in all aspects of her children's schools leading the PTA, and being deeply involved in local City politics and helped shape the direction of the City of Sunrise in its early years. Janet leaves behind her three children: Dawn Foote (Dave Foote husband, Whitney Foote granddaughter); Scott Tripp (Tracey Ziegler wife, Daniel Tripp grandson, Nicole Tripp granddaughter); Kimberly Tripp LaBarre (Ashley LaBarre granddaughter, James LaBarre grandson, Iris Blandford great granddaughter). Predeceased by her husband James Tripp, parents Frank and Della Coleman, and her brother Frank Coleman.
Janet was a caring wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister and friend who loved her family and took great pride in all of the accomplishments of her children and grandchildren. She was everyone's number 1 fan and was always available for helpful advice and encouragement. Janet was also a diehard softball player and coach, and her family has many fond memories of her escapades at the park - not to mention her favorite softball team "The Harvey Wall Bangers.
Janet's presence will be deeply missed by all those who had the privilege of knowing her. May she rest in peace knowing that she was loved and cherished by all.
