Born on January 27, 1941 in the Windy City of Chicago, Janice Lynn Robinson (née) Christensen spent her earliest years in Ireland, homeland of her grandmother Rose. Her father served on the staff of Secretary of Defense Robert McNamara in Washington, DC, where she often visited. Coming of age in Chicago, Christensen entered into a career in modeling for several major brands, including the Chicago Health Club, Bally, swimming pool supplies publications, Buick, the Las Vegas Electronics Show, Nash Manufacturing, the Butler Toothbrush Company, among many other companies. Christensen married her late husband Gerald Christensen in 1958. Throughout the decades, Christensen forged associations with many notable figures such as Buddy Gallo/Larry Flynt of Hustler Magazine, Sam H. LaMantia of the Chicago Board of Trade, comedian Jackie Mason, famous clown Emmett Kelly as well as Edward Mirmelli. During the 1970s, Christensen often visited the Surfcomber Hotel in Miami Beach, owned by Mirmelli. In the 1980s, Christensen moved to Florida to take up permanent residence in the state, settling in the city of Plantation. Always active in the community, Christensen continued to serve on a variety of committees and boards in the community and volunteered for several local political campaigns. Christensen passed away on July 20, 2021. She is survived by two children, caregivers Charlie Glaser, a war veteran brother Bob Robinson, cousins, neighbors and many friends in Plantation and around the U.S. Christensen will be laid to rest with her extended family Gerald, Clarence, and Johanna at Glen Haven Cemetery in Winter Park, FL.
