Janice went to heaven on July 16, 2021, passing peacefully in her sleep. She is survived by her two son’s William Field and Christopher Field and her sisters, Almalee French and Cecelia Jones. On July 1, 1961 Janice married the love of her life William Field at Our Lady Queen of Martyrs in Ft. Lauderdale, FL and began their life together after moving South from West Virginia. Over the next few years Janice and William started a family with the birth of their first son William in 1964 and then Christopher 8 years later. During that time they purchased their first home in Plantation, FL and settled into their life together. Janice was a devoted wife and mother and was always involved in her children’s activities whether it be donating her time with sports where she would often keep scores and records for the teams or donating her time to her children’s schools working in after school activities or volunteering in the lunch room. She was happy as long as she was close to her children. As a wife, Janice helped her husband start and operate a successful construction company in the early 1980’s and continued on until her husband William passed in 1995. After her husband’s passing, Janice again dedicated herself to her children, family and friends and began a new career as a Human Resources director and retired from Gribetz International Manufacturing Services in February of 2007. During her retirement she enjoyed traveling, baking, playing bridge with her ladies card group and spending time with her children. More recently as her health deteriorated, she was unable to do many of these things but she never lost her spirit, sense of humor and love for her family. She is deeply loved and will be greatly missed by all. A memorial mass was held at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church on Friday, August 6th at 10:00 AM.
