Jennie was born in Sampson County, NC to the late Lonnie and Alice Spell. She graduated from Highsmith Hospital School of Nursing, Fayetteville, NC, McLeod Infirmary School of Anesthesia, Florence, SC and Stephens College, Columbia. MO. She was the Director of Anesthesia Services at Broward General Medical Center until her retirement in 1994, and a member of the Florida Nurses Association and the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists. Jennie and her family loved to travel throughout the United States and Europe, however, she always looked forward to visits with relatives and former classmates in NC. She was predeceased by her loving husband, Raymond F. Poore and is survived by her daughter. Jennie E. Poore, twin sister, Mary S. Parson, nephew, William C. Parson, niece, Mary Parson Fleury, great-nieces, Danielle Archibald, Ashley Craigie,& Maggie Fleury,great-nephews, Aaron Paul, William Fleury, aunt, Elizabeth Spell, together with faithful friends, James and Rebecca Snyder. Jennie was fortunate to be able to remain at her home during her lengthy illness due to the loving care provided by Marcia Beckford, Sandra Johnson and Diane Goodman. Friends will be received on Saturday from 2:00 PM until the service time. A memorial service will be held at 3:00pm at T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home, 7001 NW 4th St, Plantation. Inurnment will be alongside her late husband, Raymond at Arlington National Cemetery, Donations in her memory may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association and the Florida United Methodist Children’s Home.
