Joan Dirst, formerly known as Joan Farley, passed away on April 14, 2024, at her home of 58 years in Plantation, Florida. She was born on October 12, 1937, in Woodside, New York. Joan devoted 30 years of her life to serving as a recovery room assistant at Plantation Hospital. Her dedication and compassion touched the lives of many during her career.
Known for her vibrant personality, Joan had a deep love for animals and cherished her Irish heritage. She took pride in her family and found joy in spending quality time with them. Family holidays, cheering for the Miami Dolphins, and sharing meals at favorite spots like Billy's and Flannigan's were some of the cherished memories she leaves behind.
In her leisure time, Joan indulged in activities that resonated with her Irish roots. She had a fondness for all things Irish, as well as for angels, crosses, and chicken wings. Watching Miami Dolphins games brought her immense happiness and allowed her to bond with loved ones over shared enthusiasm for the team.
One of Joan's proudest accomplishments was the close-knit family she built and nurtured throughout her life. She is survived by her daughter Susan Deptula, grandson Danny Morin, granddaughter Monica Morin, four great-grandchildren - Savannah, Mason, Emma, and Ryan; as well as two granddaughters-in-law - Jami Morin and Nicole Morin.
Joan's presence will be deeply missed by all who knew her. A visitation service will be held on April 21, 2024, from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM followed by a Prayer Service from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM at T. M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home located at 7001 NW 4th St in Plantation, Florida.
