Joan Marie Dolci, née Heide, passed away peacefully on April 8, 2025, in Fort Lauderdale, Florida, at the age of 89. Born on May 1, 1935, in Staten Island, New York, Joan was a beacon of love and strength throughout her life, nurtured by her deep devotion to her family and her faith.

Joan is survived by her beloved sister, Elaine Heide Wright; her son, Edward Dolci; her daughter-in-law, Troy Dolci; her daughter, Lynda Bowie; her son-in-law, Jeff Bowie; and her cherished grandsons, Thomas Bowie and Jackson Bowie. The warmth of her family remained a cornerstone of her life, and she inspired them with stories of love, resilience, and unwavering faith.

Preceding Joan in death were her devoted husband, Charles Dolci; her father, Edward Heide; her mother, Madeline Heide; and her two sisters, Doris Heide Bradley and Carol Heide Van Manen. Their memories will forever be embraced in the hearts of those who remain.

Joan's life was marked by an unwavering commitment to her Catholic faith, which guided her actions in both her personal life and her community involvement. She dedicated countless hours volunteering at various churches, including St. Patrick's Church in Staten Island, St. Gregory The Great Church in Plantation, and Assumption Catholic Church in Lauderdale by the Sea. An integral part of her parish communities, Joan taught CCD classes, trained altar servers, and served as a Eucharistic Minister, ensuring that the sacraments were accessible to all, particularly to those unable to attend services.

Her devotion extended beyond mere attendance; she actively worked with the St. Vincent DePaul Society, serving as both President and Treasurer for many years. Through her leadership, Joan was instrumental in raising funds to assist those in need within her community. Her compassion and generosity made a lasting impact on the lives of numerous individuals who found solace and support during difficult times.

Joan had a genuine love for gardening, which brought her joy and tranquility. She also cherished attending church and saying the rosary, simple acts that reflected her deep spirituality and connection with her faith.

In her later years, Joan faced the challenges presented by the latter stages of dementia with grace and dignity. Her spirit remained a source of inspiration to her family and friends.

Her legacy is one of love, service, and an abiding faith that touched countless lives. Joan Marie Dolci will be remembered fondly by those who knew her and loved her, and her memory will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of her family and community.

Visitation will be held on April 13, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM at T. M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home, located at 7001 NW 4th St, Plantation, FL 33317. A Mass in her honor will take place on April 14, 2025, at 11:00 AM at Saint Gregory The Great Catholic Church, located at 200 N University Dr, Plantation, FL 33324. Following the Mass, Joan will be laid to rest at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, 1500 S State Rd 7, North Lauderdale, FL 33068, at 12:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, Joan's wishes were to have donations made to St. Vincent DePaul Society located at 200 North University Drive Plantation, Florida 33324.
