We were married on October 11, 1980 and that was when my journey with John began. He loved to travel and because of that he took me places that I could have only dreamed of seeing as a child. He opened my eyes to different worlds. He worked for Burger King Corporation for 20 years but a new owner took over and John decided it was time to start something new. He became Operations Manager for a Kuwaiti firm after the Kuiwaiti War. It was a good opportunity but a hard move for everyone, but once there and settled we adapted. After living there for approximately two years, the discussion of children came up and it was decided that we would adopt. We went home for vacation one year and completed the necessary paperwork, bought a condo and a car and upon our return to Kuwait we received a phone call that there was a baby available, so he put me on a plane Florida so I could pick the baby up, which was John Christopher Sabol. I had to stay in the U.S. while we completed the trial period and when his vacation time came and he was able to hold J.C. the first it was love at first sight.
Eventually, we all moved back to Kuwait and then he was offered a job in Jordan so we moved there for a period of time, but approximately a year he wanted to come home. Once back we settled into our present home. He then went to work for Warwick Hobbies, where he worked the next 10 years building up the train department to be one of the biggest ones almost in the country. His love of trains started as a child he received a train every Christmas because that is what he loved. His father helped him set up a train layout in the basement of their house and it carried through his whole live. On our many trips, we would ride the trains. This I think next to being with J.C. and me were his happiest times.
He worked at Warricks for over 10 years and then decided to retire. He was able to enjoy his retirement and our live continued until his passing on November 27, 2018. John was a good man, who loved his family which never wavered. J.C. and I loved him and will miss him more that we can say. He was our rock and we are so proud to have been a major part of his life.
