John J. Sanzari, 66, of Sunrise Florida, passed away suddenly in his home Monday August 13. John was born in Hackensack New Jersey on August 1, 1952 to John and Beatrice delVecchio Sanzari. He attended East Rutherford High School and graduated from Becton Regional High School in Carlstadt where he was a proud member of the Wildcat football team. Upon graduation he continued his love of sports as he coached Carlstadt-East Rutherford Youth Football from 1972-1976. He was very proud of the impact made with his involvement with this program. During this time, he worked as a pipe fitter while serving as a fireman for the Volunteer Fire Department of Carlstadt. John moved his roots to South Florida in 1976 where he worked for the North Miami Beach Water Department and later for Classic Beauty Supplies. Over the years, he developed and maintained many friendships. In January 1982, he married Dianne Haywood and was blessed with twins John and Chandler. He was very proud of his family and their accomplishments. Some of his fondest memories of sons John and Chandler were watching them play sports. He was always so proud of them. There was never any doubt that those were his boys. Although John retired as a Journeyman Plumber, he was not ready for retirement. He enjoyed working for Nutrition Smart in Pembroke Pines. John enjoyed his travels with Dianne whether it be to the many state or national athletic administrator conferences she attended or a class reunion. He always seemed to make friends wherever he went. Several years ago, he reconnected with some of the guys he grew up with in Carlstadt, and since he had been unable to attend his class reunions they planned and held a special one for him at Park Tavern in Carlstadt. In 2013 John’s new role in life as Pop Pop to granddaughter Sophia was one he melted into completely. Being in “Pop Pop mode” brought a permanent smile to his face. Their interactions were precious beyond measure whether they were counting the chocolate chips in the cookies they shared or to him passing on his secret recipe for lasagna to her, you could see she was his light. He was eagerly anticipating the birth of her new baby sister Olivia. We know his girls will always have a special angel watching over them. John was predeceased by his parents John and Beatrice and sister Nancy. He is survived by his wife, Dianne, his sons John and Chandler (Elizabeth) his granddaughter Sophia, his brother Anthony (Brigitte), and everyone in his extended family in New Jersey, Texas, Florida, South Carolina, Alaska and Washington. John made an impact on so many and he will be sorely missed. The family will receive friends at. T. M.
