John Roche Turner was born on June 3, 1930 to Frank and Mary Turner and passed from this earth peacefully at home on the morning of February 24, 2021 at 90 years of age.

A native of New York City, he grew up in Greenpoint, Brooklyn and later Flushing, Long Island. He attended St. Francis Xavier High School and Fordham University.  John decided to become a Maryknoll priest and attended their seminary.  He was ordained in 1957.  He was assigned for many years to San Francisco and later Bolivia, where he served for 7 years as a missionary. 

In 1974 John was given permission to leave the priesthood and moved to Miami where he met and married Patricia Rogan, a widowed mother of two.  He was an excellent father to their sons James and John.  Together they built a large Amway business with an international network which they continued to run successfully for the next 40 years. 

Always active in the community, John was president of 2 separate Rotary Clubs, North Dade and Weston.  He taught Sunday school at St. Bonaventure for more than 20 years and was active in the church with both the Emmaus and Burning Hearts groups. 

John is survived by his son James and his wife Kimberly, his son John, his three 3 grandsons Johnny, Daniel and Matthew, his brother Frank, and many nieces and nephews.  He was beloved by his whole family and many friends.

Funeral services will be held at St. Bonaventure Catholic Church at 1301 SW 136^th Avenue Davie, FL 33325 on Wednesday, March 3, 2021 at 11:00 am.  Services may be viewed via livestream at TMRalph.com.
