John Joseph Virginio

John Joseph Virginio, 72, of Weston, Florida, passed away on September 30, 2022, surrounded by his wife and children. 

John was born on December 6, 1949 to the late Joseph and Norma Virginio in Newark, New Jersey.  John attended college at Rutgers University, receiving his Bachelor’s Degree in Pharmacy.  With a desire to help and improve the lives of others he continued on to have a successful career as a Pharmacist in New Jersey and then Florida, running several long-term care pharmacies.   

John and his wife Theresa were married 50 beautiful years.  They shared an endless love for family and the outdoors which led them to buy a secondary home in Vermont which became their home away from home.  John enjoyed his retirement to the fullest focusing on family and many hobbies.  He loved hiking, fishing, working in his garden, and spending time with his family as much as possible.

People most often spoke about John’s compassion, warm hearted nature, and undeniable love and pride for his family.  John was a strong, kind, loving, and supportive father and grandfather.  In recent years John devoted a lot of his time to his grandchildren.  He enjoyed bringing them to practices, attending games, tournaments, and competitions, and was their biggest fan. 

John is survived by his loving wife and best friend Theresa, his children Joseph (Rachel) Virginio, Maria Virginio, grandchildren, John, Joseph, and Juliet Virginio, along with several extended family and friends who he loved dearly.  He was predeceased by his younger brother Steven Virginio.
