Johnny Sanchez was a caring husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend. He was also a hardworking and dedicated employee of the US Postal Service and he gave them over 37 years of loyal service. Johnny left this world suddenly on March 29, 2021 at the young age of 67. Johnny was born on January 1, 1954 in Guayaquil, Ecuador and moved to the states at the age of 13 with his parents and siblings. He met the love of his life, Mercy, while attending George Washington High School in New York and he then married his high school sweetheart on February 3, 1979. Together they had 2 children: Michael and Veronica. Johnny was a rare combination of someone who had a strong appreciation of life and a firm understanding of what was important: the simplicity of living a life with those you love. He loved going out and spending time with his family and he especially enjoyed moments he spent with his beautiful granddaughter Ava, to which she would lovingly call him "My Johnny". His acute awareness of the importance of a life lived with the ones you love over any material possession was only handicapped by his territorial attachment to the remote control when his beloved NY Yankees were playing. He is survived by his wife of 42 years Mercy, son Michael, daughter Veronica & granddaughter Ava. He will be remembered in the hearts of all those who loved him. Visitation will be held at T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home, 7001 NW 4th Street, Plantation, FL 33317 from 2 PM - 5 PM for extended family and friends (mask are required).
