Jose Humberto Castro, de 71 años, falleció en paz el 9 de marzo de 2025. Conocido como Bert por sus seres queridos, vivio una vida larga y feliz, llena de sus cosas favoritas: su familia, amigos, música, tenis, sus pajaritos y su fotografías. Bert emigró a los estados unidos en 1970 y rápidamente se convirtió en un orgulloso ciudadano del país que amaba. Cualquiera que pasará más de cinco minutos con el sabía cuanto amaba a este país y entendía porque el lo consideraba el mejor del mundo, así como a su país de origen, Costa Rica.

Bert fue un verdadero hombre dotado, de gran qualidades humanas, con una rica y diversa experiencia laboral y viajerá. Lo que realmente sostuvo a Bert en los momentos buenos y malos, en momentos difíciles y alegres fue su profundo amor y adoración absoluta por su familia, especialmente por su amada esposa de 52 años, Maria Delia y sus dos hijos, Jorge Ivan (Michelle, esposa) de Lexington, KY y Mauricio Andres (Lorraine, esposa) de Cooper City, FL. Bert tuvo el gran orgullo de ser el Abuelito de Leilani, Jaycee, Sonja, Marcus y Zavier. El fue uno de los grandes admiradores de sus nietos. Su amor no paro ahí, amaba a su madre, Lillian y sus hermanos Marlene, Orietha, Mingo y Vicky. Su memoria y espíritu vive atraves de ellos y de sus muchísimos tíos, tías, primos, sobrinas y sobrinos. Así como a sus queridos amigos.

Al recordar a Bert, honra su espíritu jugando un alegre partido de tenis o tocando un disco long-play favorito. Y lo más importante, ¡Siga viviendo! con fotos espontáneas y preciados recuerdos.

Jose Humberto Castro, 71 passed away peacefully on March 9, 2025. Known as Bert to his loved ones, he lived a long and happy life filled with his favorite things: Family, Friends, Music, Tennis, his Birds and Photography. Bert emigrated to the United States in 1970 and quickly became a proud citizen of the country he loved. Anyone who spent more than five minutes with Bert could instantly know his profound love for this country and his unwavering belief that it was the greatest on earth—just as he cherished Costa Rica, the land of his roots. Bert was a true renaissance man, with a wealth of diverse work experiences and travel. What truly sustained Bert—through good days, bad days, tough times, and joyful moments—was his deep love and absolute adoration for his family, especially his beloved wife of 52 years, Maria Delia, and their two sons, Jorge Ivan. (wife, Michelle) of Lexington, KY, and Mauricio Andres. (wife, Lorraine) of Cooper City, FL. Bert cherished being 'Abuelito' to Leilani, Jaycee, Sonja, Marcus, and Zavier, and he was his grandchildren’s biggest fan. His love did not stop there. He is lovingly remembered by his mother, Lillian, and his siblings, Marlene, Orietha, Mingo, and Vicky. His memory and spirit will continue to live on through them, as well as through his countless uncles, aunts, cousins, nieces, and nephews. Not to mention his beloved friends. As you remember Bert, honor his spirit by playing a lively tennis match or spinning your favorite record LP in his memory. And most importantly, 'Live ON!' through candid photos and creating cherished memories.
