Josephine Chiavaro, 94, passed away on May 18, 2022. Josephine died on the morning of May 18, 2022. She was a beloved sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who enjoyed her volunteer work with All Saints Women’s Guild, and the City of Hope , and playing canasta with friends and family. She was predeceased in death by her husband Santino; they were married on April 18, 1948 in Brooklyn , NY . She is also predeceased in death by her sister Marie Fontanetta, of Glen Cove , NY . She is survived by her sister Caroline Cusumano, of Bethpage, NY; her daughters Catherine and Joanne Chiavaro, of Weston, FL; Arlene Gilman, of Powder Springs, GA; Patricia Brandel and son-in-law Stephen, of Plantation, FL; her grandchildren Michelle Turner, of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; Christine Brandel, of Plantation, FL; Brian Gilman, of Powder Springs, GA; Valerie Freund, of Sunrise, FL; and six great-grand children, Layla, Aidan, Cash, Logan, Ozzie, and Violet. Josie is finally reunited with her beloved Sam and her sister Marie. “Mamma Josie”, as she was referred to by many, always had a smile and lots of love for everyone who came into her life. The family will receive friends at T. M. Ralph Funeral Home Sawgrass/Weston 371 NW 136 Ave Sunrise , FL 33325 on Sunday from 2:00 PM - 6:00 PM. A prayer service will be held at 3:30 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated Monday, May 23, 2022, 11:00 AM, at All Saints Catholic Church in Sunrise , Florida Interment will follow in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
