Joyce (“Joy”) Miller Perry died January 26, 2023 in Ft Lauderdale, FL. She was 93. Joy was from Merchantville, NJ, daughter of Katharine Truscott Miller and Granville G Miller. She graduated from Merchantville High School, class of 1946. In 1951 Joyce married Harold F Perry, Jr., from Collingswood, NJ. In 1956 the Perrys moved to Ft. Lauderdale, FL. The Perrys enjoyed traveling in the US, overseas, and several cruises; also had a summer home in Spruce Pine, NC for 40 years. Her interests were primarily in volunteer work: The International Assoc. of Cancer Victors & Friends, Broward County Chapter, being one of the founding members in 1975 and on the Board until the chapter closed in 2015. The Freedom Through Christ Prison Ministry, Founder and Director from 1990 until 2019. She was interested in Genealogy, being a member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants and the Daughters of the American Revolution. Country Western dancing was a favorite hobby for many years. In earlier years she taught Sunday School and hosted a Kids Bible Club. She was preceded in death by her husband of 64 years, Harold; her son Bill (Jennifer’s husband) and her half-brother Douglas A Miller, Sr. She is survived by 2 children: Rick (Annette), Kathryn (Craig Budd); 10 grandchildren: David Goodman, Brian Perry, Rachel Adams, Linda Escobar, Christi Perry, Stephanie Brock, Jessica Solomon, Ezra Perry, Leah Nelson, Alexis Budd and 31 great-grandchildren.
