Our beloved Kalliope E. Politis, Cally, age 85, born in Bradenton, FL passed away October 31, 2018. Born to Michael Economos and Maria Karaphillis Economos October 13, 1933. Cally, “Yia Yia” was a beautiful person and made such a difference in the lives of everyone she knew. As an elementary school teacher for 44 years, she touched so many lives her students and colleagues. Cally most of all loved her family. She will live on in our hearts and memories. Her generosity and kindness knew no bounds. We will always remember you Yia Yia with a big beautiful smile on your face full of love and laughter. Cally is survived by her beloved husband Chris Politis, Babe, her brothers Theophilus Economos(Connie), Andrew Economos( Judith), beloved children James Politis and wife Tina, Maria Dragon and husband Scott, grandchildren Marco Zeno and wife Lacey, Christopher Zeno and wife Maria, Nicolas Zeno and Taylor Politis, great grandchildren Noah, Jade, Nico, Theophilus. A visitation will be held from 5 PM to 8 PM on Monday November 5, 2018 at T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home 7001 NW 4th Street Plantation FL, 33317. A memorial service will be held in her honor on Tuesday November 6, 2018, St. Demetrios Greek Orthodox Church at 11:00 AM, 815 NE 15th Avenue Ft. Lauderdale, FL 33304. The family request that in lieu of flowers, please make a donation to Cally’s passion of teaching and her unbounding love of her grandchildren to the LIFE Developmental Center, a day program for adults with Special Needs, where her granddaughter Taylor attends.
