Kate Everitte Friedewald,100, went to heaven January 17, 2022 surrounded by family in Plantation, FL. Kate was born May 17, 1921, in Parkton, NC to Ed and Nancy Everitte. She graduated from Parkton High School in 1940 and went on to graduate in 1943 from Bakers Hospital in Lumberton, NC as a registered nurse. She worked over 50 years as a head nurse/ supervisor in several hospitals, retiring from North Miami General Hospital in 1989. Kate married the love of her life, Don Edward Friedewald Sr, on January 11,1945 at Ft. Bragg, NC main post chapel. In 1964, they moved from Jacksonville, FL to Miami, FL residing there for 25 years before retiring to Tamarac, FL in 1989. Kate is preceded in death by her husband Don Friedewald Sr, her parents, eight siblings, and grandson Danny Ridgeway. She is survived by her children: Jane (Friedewald) Kubler and Dean of Davie, FL; Don Friedewald Jr and Donna of Dania Beach, FL; four grandchildren and six great grandchildren: Ashley (Kubler) Doebbeling and husband John of Ft Collins, CO with Edison, Henry, and Elin;Tate Kubler and wife Annie of Tampa,FL, with Lilly, Reagan,and Greg; Don A. Friedewald and Paula Rivera of NYC; Luke Friedewald of Dania Beach, FL; sister in law, Margaret Everitte of St Pauls, NC and several nieces and nephews. Kate believed that God gave her a long life so she could show kindness to others. We have loving memories of Mom/Grandma/GG that will live in our hearts forever. A memorial service will be held at Plantation United Methodist Church, Plantation, FL on March 12th.
