Kathleen McGowan Clotfelter, 83, of Davie, FL, passed away January 29, 2021. Kass was born August 30, 1937, in Philadelphia, PA. She was a graduate of Little Flower High School and Villanova University. She faithfully served as Sister Donald James of the Grey Nuns of the Sacred Heart before leaving the religious service. Kass was a faithful member of St. David Catholic Church, a leader within many local faith communities, a proud recovering alcoholic of 36 years and a member of the Red Hat Society. Her faith, enthusiasm for life, and kindness were infectious and left many lives better than when she first encountered them. Kass was previously employed as a librarian and loved working in schools. She was an accomplished bowler, an avid traveler, an adored sister, beloved aunt, dear friend, step mother, and adopted Grandmother to many. Preceded in death by her sweetheart and loving husband Joseph Clotfelter; her brothers, Kevin, Emmett, Joseph, Donald, Thomas, and John (all McGowan); and her sister, Mary Greenberg. She leaves behind a sister, G’nee Maples of Beach Haven West, NJ; a brother James (Odile) McGowan of Les Grangettes, France; many nieces and nephews, her step-daughters and grandchildren by marriage, and many more friends who were like family- all whom loved her dearly and will never forget her charm, wit, laughter or tenacity. Visitation with the praying of the holy rosary will take place Thursday March 4th, from 2-4PM at TM Ralph Funeral Home in Plantation, Florida. A funeral mass and celebration of Kass’s life will take place Friday, March 5, 2021, at 10:30 AM at St. David Catholic Church in Davie, FL.
