Laurence John Burch, affectionately known as “Doc”, a man whose life was filled with dedication, compassion, and a profound commitment to healing, passed away on July 27, 2024, leaving behind a legacy that will forever be remembered with gratitude and admiration.
Born on September 10, 1938, in Harbor Springs, Michigan, Larry was destined for a life of service and purpose. His early years were marked by bravery and patriotism as he proudly served in the Marines in 1956, embodying the values of duty and honor.
In 1963, Larry graduated from Lincoln Chiropractic College, embarking on a career that would define him as a healer for countless individuals. He established his own practice, where he dedicated himself to providing comfort and relief to those in need, earning a reputation for his unwavering commitment to his profession.
Beyond his professional accomplishments, Larry was known for his intelligence, humor, kindness, and generosity. His wit lit up the room, his kindness touched the hearts of many, and his generosity knew no bounds. He had a unique ability to make everyone around him feel seen and valued, leaving a lasting impact on all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Outside of his work, Larry found joy in various hobbies and interests. From hunting, fishing, and boating to skeet shooting (earning a notable ranking in the state of Florida) and scuba diving, he embraced every adventure with enthusiasm. His passion for flying led him to become a skilled pilot, navigating the skies in his own planes, symbolizing his adventurous spirit and love for exploration.
In his 85 years of life, Larry was a beloved husband of 58 years to Jane Ann, a devoted father to his daughters Lauri Dempsey (Michael) and Staci Hill (Trevor), and a cherished grandfather to Amanda Dempsey, Cooper, and Paige Hill. His family meant the world to him, and his love and guidance will forever remain etched in their hearts.
Laurence was preceded in death by his parents, Clair and Beatrice Burch, and his sisters, Elaine Love and Charlene Weston. Their memories will now be reunited with his in a place of eternal peace and serenity.
As we mourn the loss of Laurence John Burch, we find solace in the countless lives he touched, the smiles he brought, and the legacy of compassion and service he leaves behind. May his memory be a source of comfort and inspiration, guiding us to emulate his remarkable qualities of love, kindness, and dedication. Larry’s light will continue to shine brightly in the hearts of all who had the privilege of knowing him.
