Lawrence W. Buckley Lawrence William Buckley (Larry), 85, of Tamarac, FL passed away on Wednesday August 23, 2017 with his loving family by his side. Larry was born on September 5, 1931 in Philadelphia, PA to Robert and Genevieve Buckley. He was the sixth of seven children: Gertrude Schutzenhofer (deceased), Robert Buckley (deceased), Helen Keltz, Joe Buckley (Deceased) Vinny Buckley, and Gen Moreira. Larry graduated from John Bartram High School in south Philly with his closest and longest friend, Harry Wood. After graduation, he served in the US Navy during the Korean War (1950-1954). In 1954 on the weekend of his discharge from the Navy, he married the love of his life and high school sweet heart, Mary M. Manion. He moved to Florida with his family in 1960 to find work. Larry’s career included a Machinist at Farris Manufacture (1961-1971) and Repair Supervisor at BellSouth (1971-1991). In 1995, he became an active member of the Loyal Order of Moose Lodge 2267 in Tamarac, FL. He was very much respected, made a multitude of friends and wore many hats, including handy-man, coordinator of the monthly backyard BBQ, annual St. Patrick Day’s Irish dancers, and annual Danny Britt Scholarships Fund. His major accomplishments were receiving the Fellowship Degree, being elected Junior Governor for two terms and Trustee for three years. He was always willing to help anyone in need. As a beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, uncle, and brother, he leaves behind his beautiful bride of 63 years, Mary, and four-daughters, Mary Joe (Jimmie), Elaine Sands, Susan Dunleavy (Brendan), and Maureen Resta. He also leaves behind five grandchildren: Kathleen Ems (Bruce), Craig Sands (Yanellis), Daniel Dunleavy (Sandy), Sarah Resta, and Michael Resta. He was most proud of his four great-grandchildren: Yaileia, Yalaina, Achaius, and Scarlett.
