Lee Evans Poore, age 73, passed away on June 24th, 2024. He was born on September 20th, 1950 to Augustus and Gertrude Poore.
The world lost a kind and humble soul with his passing. He leaves behind a legacy that will forever be cherished by those who knew and loved him.
Lee began his career working at Winn-Dixie and then spent over 40 years working at McDonald's. His commitment and work ethic were unparalleled, leaving a lasting impact on all those encountered throughout his professional journey. He was a humble honest working man who was always willing to help others.
Beyond his career accomplishments, Lee will be remembered for the beautiful memories he created with his family. When his niece and nephew's father passed away while they were young, Lee stepped up and helped his sister Ann by being the best uncle ever for his young niece and nephew. One cherished memory shared by his niece and nephew was their weekly breakfast dates with Uncle Lee every Tuesday while they were in elementary school where they spent time together and he took them to school and gave them money for a treat at school. His unconditional love and acceptance made these moments unforgettable and treasured.
A man of integrity, Lee never sought material possessions for happiness; instead, he found joy in helping others selflessly. His kind heart and willingness to assist anyone stood as a testament to his character. Lee was a private person, but for those who took the time to get to know him found a quality individual with impeccable character.
Among those who preceded him in death are his parents, Thomas Augustus and Gertrude Poore; sister Ann Slappy; half-brothers James Poore and Tom Poore. Lee will also be dearly missed by his surviving family and friends including Ann Marie Scott (niece) & her family along with Charles Robert Moore, Jr. (nephew) & his loved ones.
In addition to his professional dedication, Lee found solace in playing golf—a passion where he excelled and brought joy to those around him. His skill on the golf course made him a valuable teammate in any scramble—a true testament to his talents.
Lee's sister recently passed away after being ill. After her recent burial, Lee's niece asked Lee if he believed that the Lord Jesus Christ was his savior. Lee replied "yes". His niece said, "well then you'll see her again one day in heaven". We are saddened that Lee has also passed way after being ill so soon after his sister passed but rejoice that he is once again with his sister and they are both now pain free in heaven.
