Letizia Gottlieb, 75, of Plantation, FL passed away on September 1st, 2021 with her loving son at her side after a long battle with Parkinson’s.
Letizia - or Letty to her friends, was born to the late Gennaro Cannalonga and Maria Colamaria in January 1946 in New York City, NY. Letty was a glamorous woman who spent time in her younger years working at the World's Fair and other high-end New York City clubs. She was always known for her style and eye for fashion.
Letty married the late Barry Gottlieb in 1965 and they lived together with their two sons Barry Jr. and Brett in South Plainfield, NJ before moving to Fort Lauderdale, Fl. While living in Florida, Letty and Barry had a third son, Brody. She is survived by Brody, his wife Nikki, her grandson Slade Gottlieb and her brother Dominick Cannalonga. She was preceded in death by her sons Barry Jr and Brett Gottlieb.
Letty was a devoted and loving mother to her sons, Barry Jr, Brett and Brody. Letty raised being a homemaker to an art form with her amazing cooking and lavish entertaining. She had a talent for remembering everyone's favorite dishes and made sure every guest felt truly welcome in her beautiful home. Her Christmas Eve traditional Italian gatherings were widely anticipated. Letty was a most gracious hostess and loyal friend.
At times throughout her life Letty worked in the cosmetics industry, sharing her talent for making the world a more beautiful place. After her sons were grown, she attended college to study fashion and was the owner of Fanny's Fans in Plantation, Fl. for several years.
Letty also loved adventure and often traveled with her family. She loved spending time at the beach with her loved ones. She is remembered for her kindness, generosity, and beauty.
Family and Friends will gather to visit on Sunday from 2:00-5:00 PM at the T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home, 7001 NW 4 Street Plantation, FL 33317.
Her life will be remembered on Monday 10:30 AM at the Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery in Fort Lauderdale, FL.
