Lillian M. Sullivan, 94, died July 30, 2022, after a short illness. Born in Brooklyn, NY, on April 2, 1928, Lillian graduated from Mineola (NY) High School in 1946, worked for the telephone company, and moved to Fort Lauderdale in 1952 after a vacation. She hated the cold, and wanted to live where it was warm all year long.
Lillian met the love of her life, William O. Sullivan, at the “Elbo Room” on Fort Lauderdale Beach, Christmas of 1952, and they were married September 5, 1953. They had six children, of which five survive her, Louise Scott (Rick), Theresa Sullivan, Deirdre Powell (Richard), Danny Sullivan (Shayne), and Kevin Sullivan (Tammy). She is also survived by her 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters, Frances Perrucci (David), and Dolores Botti; sisters-in-law, Ellen Rivers and Kitty Newsam, and numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Lillian worked at the Fort Lauderdale National Bank, Wilton Manors National Bank, and Priority One Credit Union. Lillian is preceded in death by her husband, William O. Sullivan, son, David W. Sullivan, brother, Thomas Botti, parents, Frank and Louise Botti, and in-laws, David H. Sullivan and Katharine O. Sullivan.
Lillian was a founding member of St. Clement Catholic Church, sang in the choir, was a eucharistic minister and lector. She was very active in and a former President of the St. Clement Women’s Club. After moving to Plantation 15 years ago, she became a member of St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, and sang in the choir. Lillian was an amazing woman whom everyone loved. She was a fabulous mother, a great sister, and a fantastic friend. Lillian was a role model for her daughters, and granddaughters. She will be greatly missed.
Viewing will be Thursday, August 4th, 2:00pm-4:00pm and 6:00pm-8:00pm at T. M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home. Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, August 5th, 10:00am, St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church, and interment immediately following in Our Lady Queen of Heaven Catholic Cemetery.
