Margaret Patricia Chuckaree, 66, of Plantation, Florida passed away May 29, 2017 in the loving company of family and friends. Born July 14, 1950 with a deep, innate devotion to God, she made a promise as a young girl growing up in St. James, Trinidad that she would always follow Jesus. After moving to the U.S. a second time in 1994, she became a member of St. Bernard Catholic Church in Sunrise, where as cantor her love and faith in Christ, music and people intertwined. She sang during mass, weddings and funerals, touching thousands with her voice. She was also leader of the Spirit of Hope charismatic prayer group, and of the Women's Guild. "I have a passion for singing," she told the Miami Herald in 2007. "The best way for me to praise God is through music." She worked for many years at Motorola Mobility as an administrative assistant, and was a member of the International Association of Administrative Professionals. She shared her love of music with Carlyle, her loving husband of 40 years, and their daughters, Charlene and Marissa. She slipped into the next life at Holy Cross Hospital to the sound of her family singing "Come to My Window." Along with her husband and daughters, she is survived by sisters Debra, Jennifer and Dianne, and brothers Frank and Collin.Visitation will be held 10:00 am Thursday, June 8 at St. Bernard Catholic Church, 8279 Sunset Strip, Sunrise, FL 33322. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:00 am at the church. Donations in her memory may be made to St. Vincent de Paul, in care of the church.
