With great sadness, we announce the passing of Margaret Ann Cook, 87 of Plantation, Florida on October 31, 2021. She was born on July 30, 1934 to the late William Paul and Mary Browning of Ashland, Kentucky. She is preceded in death by her husband, David Y Cook of 57 years. She is survived by her children, Maribeth, Tom (Shirley) and Ann (Michael) and grandchildren, Michael, Colin, Nathan, Erica and Rachel and sister Marilyn Jo Galloway and many loving nieces and nephews. Margaret was a graduate of Ashland Senior High class of 1952 and attended Mary Washington College and Centre College. Following college she moved to Ft Lauderdale and met David in 1957 while both were working at Florida Power & Light Company. She married the love of her life on June 14, 1959 and settled in Plantation, Florida. She was an active member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority. Margaret was a long-time member of the Plantation Junior Woman’s Club. She was an active member of Plantation United Methodist Church since 1972 where she sang in the choir and participated in other areas of the church. Margaret along with Jeanette Smith and Mike Jackson opened Cross Stitcher’s Three in April 1980 in the Plantation Towne Mall. The successful business was sold in 1987. Margaret subsequently worked for former customers in their store, Cross Stitch Cupboard, in Wilton Manors. The family will receive friends and family on Thursday from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM at the T.M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home 7001 NW 4 Street Plantation, FL 33317. Funeral Service will be at the funeral home at 11:30 AM led by Dr. Marta Burke. Burial will follow at Evergreen Cemetery.
