It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Margarita Alcantara.

Margarita Alcantara, born in Cerro de Pasco, Peru, passed away in Sunrise, FL, at the age of 92. She leaves behind a legacy of love, resilience, and gratitude that her family and friends will forever cherish.

Margarita is survived by her loving daughter, her hardworking son-in-law, and her cherished grandson and granddaughter. She played a pivotal role in raising her grandchildren alongside their parents, providing unwavering support and nurturing guidance. Margarita was a dedicated grandmother, always committed to taking care of her grandchildren. Whether walking them to and from the bus stop, cooking their favorite meals, offering support and advice during tough times, or simply providing comforting company, she was a constant source of love and care.

Even as adults, she assisted her grandson in moving to graduate school and supported her granddaughter's journey through medical school. She also helped each of her grandchildren settle into their new homes outside of Florida.

Margarita also leaves behind her furry grandchildren, Goldly and Champagne (Champán), who will miss her dearly. Goldly, in particular, eagerly awaited abuela's delicious cooking for lunch and dinner.

Margarita had a profound love for Florida State University, where both her grandchildren earned their bachelor's degrees. Her granddaughter later pursued her master's and doctorate in medicine at FSU. Margarita loved watching FSU college football and was always enthusiastic about discussing the game, even if she didn't fully understand the rules. She often expressed deep gratitude for the country and the university that provided her grandchildren with the opportunity to flourish and achieve their dreams.

In addition to her own sacrifices, she was always deeply grateful for the sacrifices her daughter and son-in-law made for the family.

Margarita's warmth, kindness, and very courageous spirit will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, reminding them of the beauty of life and the importance of gratitude.

A private family service will be held to honor and celebrate Margarita's remarkable life.

Margarita Alcantara, nacida en Cerro de Pasco, Perú, falleció en Sunrise, FL, a la edad de 92 años. Deja un legado de amor, resiliencia y gratitud que su familia y amigos apreciarán por siempre.

A Margarita le sobreviven su amada hija, su trabajador yerno, y su querido nieto y nieta. Jugó un papel fundamental en la crianza de sus nietos junto a sus padres, proporcionando un apoyo inquebrantable y una orientación cariñosa. Margarita fue una abuela dedicada, siempre comprometida con el cuidado de sus nietos. Ya fuera caminándolos hacia y desde la parada de autobús del colegio, cocinándoles sus comidas favoritas, ofreciéndoles apoyo y consejos durante tiempos difíciles, o simplemente brindándoles compañía reconfortante, ella fue una fuente constante de amor y cuidado.

Incluso como adultos, ella ayudó a su nieto a mudarse a la escuela de posgrado y apoyó a su nieta en su trayectoria por la escuela de medicina. También ayudó a cada uno de sus nietos a instalarse en sus nuevos hogares fuera de Florida.

Margarita también deja atrás a sus otros nietos de cuatro patas, Goldly y Champagne (Champán), quienes la extrañarán profundamente. Goldly, en particular, esperaba ansiosamente la deliciosa cocina de la abuela para el almuerzo y la cena.
