Marge Miller
January 5, 1941 — May 21, 2021
Marjorie K Miller, known as Marge to her friends & family, passed away on Friday, May 21st, 2021 at the age of 80. Marge was born in Portland, grew up in LA, and moved to Fort Lauderdale in the early 1960's. Dogs were Marge's passion in life. She began training dogs in the 70's and soon became known as one of best trainers in South Florida. As owner of Command Dog Training, Marge taught obedience classes from 1978 until the pandemic shut down her classes. She taught at the National Guard Armory, Tree Tops Park, Sunview Park & the Tower Shops in Davie. Marge helped thousands of dog owners and took pride in training the most difficult dogs, particularly the ones who were kicked out of other classes.Marge also bred beautiful Labrador Retrievers under the kennel name "Millab". She had an eye for a well-structured dog, but always put temperament first.Marge is survived by her only child, Deborah K Bates, Grandson Daniel Warren Bates, son-in-law Maxwell R. Bates,104-year-old mother Grace Nycum, brother Stephen Kay, sister Janice Fogg, along with nieces and nephews. She was a kind soul with a heart of gold, who loved every dog she met. We believe she is having a wonderful reunion at the Rainbow Bridge with her beloved Babe & Mariah, along with all the other dogs & friends who have gone before her. Those of us left behind will miss her forever.A gathering of friends and family will be held Sunday, June 13th, 1:00PM-2:00PM, and the Memorial Service will begin 2:00 PM, at T. M. Ralph Plantation Funeral Home.In lieu of flowers, please send donations to one of Marge's favorite charities.
