Marie Solange Sinsmir (nee Medy) was born on April 4, 1936 in Port-au-Prince, Haiti. She came to the United States in 1965 and has been an upstanding citizen. She has resided in New York, California, Connecticut, Georgia and Florida. She passed away on Thursday, May 11th, 2017 surrounded by loved ones. She was lovingly called Solange or SoSo. She is predeceased by her parents, Lt. Idomene Medy and Myriame Domond. She is also predeceased by her close maternal aunt, Jessica Domond. She is survived by her three daughters, Beagy Hanna (Ambrose,) Margarette Dauphin (nee Coulanges,) Elizenda Schaelicke (Burkar) Grandchildren: Tania Vincent, Eliza Iski, Beagy Zielenski, Philip Gittens, Dominica Reid, Stephanie Dauphin, Christian Kaltwasser and Gregory Dauphin, U.S. Navy HM. Great-grand children: Michael Velasquez, Alexis Velasquez, Caleb Velasquez and Camden Gittens. Also survived by a close brother, Weiner Dorcelien (Roccio) and his children James Dorcelien, Berto Dorcelien and Julian Docelien and his grandchildren. She worked in Management and later as a school nurse and in private home care. She loved the Lord and her family. She lived life to the fullest and believed on never giving up. She fought a good fight and although the disease had ravaged her mind and body, she fought til the end. Towards the end, she was fortunate to have met caring people who advocated and prayed with her often. Special thanks to Zette and Lala. She will be fondly remembered.
