Nee Maria Magaddino, born in Palermo, Sicily on November 20, 1923, Mary maintained her strong will and indomitable spirit until the moment she entered Heaven and was greeted by Santo (Sam), her devoted husband of 67 years. Mary is survived by her children Anthony (Lynn) and Grace (Tom) Keene; her grandchildren Christopher Arico, Jessica (Brian) Kubis and Jamie (Giovanni) Santi; and four great-granddaughters Makayla, Lola, Lucy and Wyatt. The oldest of five, Mary adored her siblings and entered the workforce at a young age to assist with her family’s support. She became a hairdresser and eventually co-owned and operated a hair salon in Brooklyn NY along with her husband. She and her family moved to Long Island before relocating to Florida in 1969. She considered her children her greatest gifts and devoted her lifetime to loving and caring for her family. She shall always be remembered for her sweet spirit, kindness and willingness to laugh at herself. Friends and family will be received on Monday 5:00-7:00 PM at T.M. Ralph Funeral Home Sawgrass, 371 NW 136 Avenue Sunrise, FL 33325. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday 11:00 AM at All Saints Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Our Lady Queen of Heaven Cemetery, N. Lauderdale, FL. Arrangements by T.M.Ralph Funeral Home 954-587-6888. Mary’s patron saint was Frances Xavier Cabrini, an Italian-American Roman Catholic nun who founded the Missionary Sisters of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, a Catholic religious institute that was a major support to her fellow Italian immigrants to the United States. May your Spirit, which once breathed over the chaos of the earth, give life to all the powers of my soul. Quote of St. Frances Cabrini Visitation will be held Monday 5:00-7:00PM at the T.M.
