Mary Joanna Eimer of Sunrise, Florida passed away peacefully at her home on July 17, 2023. Born on January 9, 1935 in Marlboro, Massachusetts to Bernard Francis Loftus and Margaret Bushey Loftus.
She is predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Seymour Eimer, her mother and father, three brothers, Dennis Loftus, Patrick Loftus and Terence Loftus and grandson, Jason Towne.
She is survived by her two sisters, Louise Wassenberg and Betsy Tibe (John), brother, Retired Vice Admiral Stephen Loftus, sisters-in-law, Karen Szukalski and Barbara Adler as well as her 7 children, 12 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
Joanna, as she was known to all, was a beautiful woman, inside and out, and did not have a mean bone in her body. She was deeply religious and involved in many church related activities, including Respect Life, while her health permitted.
She loved unconditionally and taught us the true meaning of family. Her greatest achievement by far was being a wonderful mother, grandmother, great grandmother, as well as being a mother figure to many others. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family. Joanna was an avid reader, an intellectually curious online researcher and a lover of music.
We are heartbroken to lose the Matriarch of our family but know that she is at peace and reunited with the love of her life, as well as those who predeceased her.
